Mancat Monday
......and chew on it.
Eric: Oh no! She's got the flashy box again. I've got to move fast before she takes my photo.
Flynn: Huh! Where did Eric go?
Oh there he goes walking along the edge of the field.
You can see the track we have made where we always walk in the same place.
Flynn: Hello! Who's been here digging out the hedge? It's probably Mr. Badger or Mr. Fox.
I'll just have a quick look over the hedge and see if I can see who did it.
Flynn: Nope, couldn't see any one. Come on Eric, let's go back and rest on the field roller.
This is a nice sunny spot, what do you think Eric?
Eric: Yup, I could sit here all day and soak up the sunbeams if it wasn't so cold.
Flynn: Well you can stay there if you want to. I'm heading for home to see what's to eat.

Mouse Hunters
We haf been taking her around the fields to look for mousies. There don't seem to be many around. They must haf got washed away in all the rain. Mum sez not to worry, they will soon be back when Spring comes along. We hope so although Eric isn't allowed to eat them any more. I just like to play with them. I often let them go free so I can catch them again but sometimes they go dead while I still want to play. Mum sez I am mean to them, but I think it's them who are mean for not playing long enough.

Hunting
While Flynn is jumping around in the grass trying to catch a mouse, I think I will just have a mooch around and see what's about.
It's nice to just get out in the fresh air when the rain stops.
We both really enjoy our walks in the fields.
No, I am not peeing, I am listening because I thought I heard a mousie.
After a nice walk, it's good to sit and look at the view from our fields.
And yes, the grass really is that green. It's been like that all summer because we have had so much rain this year.Labels: hunting, view from our fields., walking in the fields

Waiting
Flynn: Me and Eric are supposed to be walking around the fields together, but I can't see him.
Come on Eric, where are you.
I keep looking but there's no sign of him yet.
Have you seen him mum? Why must he always keep me waiting?
Oh well, I might as well lie down and wait. I could be here all day.
Eric: Come on Lazy Bones Flynn. What are you doing lying down there. We're supposed to be going for a walk.
Come on, let's have a look on the hedge.
I can see sheep in our neighbour's field. I'd like to go in there and say hello, but we are not allowed to.
See that wire in front of me? Well, it is electric to stop the horsies trying to escape from the field. Mum has to turn it off when we go out because if we touched it, we might turn into curly cats.
Flynn: Shhh, I think I can hear something.
Eric: Hang on, I'm coming. You may need back up.
Eric: Oops, I think I made too much noise. There were fev-vers in there and they flew away when they heard me.+015.jpg)
Flynn: Oh well, that put paid to that. We might as well sit in the grass and wait for something else to come along.
Eric: Okay, good idea. You know what Flynn, those horsies don't half leave a lot of poop lying around.

An Adventure.
Dad had left the door open to the implement shed so we went in for a look around.Flynn: Come over here Eric and smell the hay baler. It's very interesting.
Eric: I can't right now. I've found something much more interesting than that.
Eric: Look Flynn, see what I've found. It's a toad but you don't want to pick them up or taste them because they make your mouth froth.
We managed to drag ourselves away from watching Mr. Toad and went into the field.Eric: I think I hear something down there.
What was it, where did it go?
We walked further into the field but something was wrong. It smelled the same as usual, but something had definitely changed. Can anycat see what is different?
Eric: I don't know about you Flynn but I don't like this one bit.
Flynn: I agree, I'm worried. Something has been going on here without us knowing about it.
Eric: It's no good, I can't relax.
Flynn: Me neither.
Flynn: That's it, I've had enough. I'm going to bush my tail up to scare off any intruders and I'm going back to the garden.
Eric: Okay but wait while I have a drink. All this worry has made me thirsty.Did anycat see what was different in our fields?
Dad had been working with his tractor and he had made all the grass go flat. It didn't look right, and it didn't feel right to walk on. It made us very nervous. We didn't like it at all.

Mancat Monday.
Now Eric is feeling better again we are going on our walks around the fields. I check furr mousies in the hedges.........
and we sit in the grass and listen...............
we check under the broken slabs. They like to build their nests under there.
We listen in the grass again...................
Yep, sounds like something here.
Then when we have finished, we go and sit in our tree and watch what is going on.Eric: Trouble is, even when we catch a mousie, mum takes it away furrom me. Not fair!
